Thanks for the good words, Jerry! Perhaps one of Whelen's most educational works, for me at least, was his Mister Rifleman. I use the word 'educational' because pictured in the back are his personal rifles of that time, along with his and others' comments about them. Composed of a number of truly elegant rifles along with a few mediocre specimens as well, the diversity of his arsenal suggests that he actually used most of these rifles regardless of whether they were fancy or plain. I was impressed by Bill Humphries' stock work, among others. I gave my copy to a friend's son, it was extremely well-thumbed!
