Jim, if you have nothing helpful to offer, perhaps you should not post at all. Whether I convert the safety to manual (1/2 my guns are manual safety) or keep it automatic, I'LL STILL HAVE TO REMOVE THE BUTTSTOCK (or do you know a way to do it without removing the stock!). Please read the question before you offer your opinions; I did not ask how many "adults" use manual safeties!!! Now, does anyone know anything about the actual question?
P.S. Yeti, thank you for the help.
Joe
In spite of your snotty response to my reply, I'll try to help because I'm a nice guy. If the stock is not held on by a through-bolt, you will surely have to remove the trigger guard and trigger plate. Probably also the sears. To determine if it has a through-bolt, remove the buttplate or recoil pad. If there's no hole, there is no through-bolt. It probably is not a through-bolt style.
