Adam......is that public ground your hunting?
Yes and no. I have hunted a little bit of public land in South AL and the Florida Panhandle but you are lucky to find more than 1-2 coveys a day. The best I have ever heard was 6 coveys. Usually you can expect 0-2.
I mostly hunt private land. Much of it the same type cover.... classic Southern piney woods.

Old-field pines... they differ from longleaf woods a little. Not as open with a different type ground cover. Grow in... you guessed it, old farm fields.
