My 471xxx 28 gauge 4E has "Krupp Steel" barrels and was beautifully engraved and signed by Adams and Adams of Vermont. According to an article about the guns written by Vic Venters in the March/April issue of Shooting Sportsman, it sounds like the components for the 470xxx guns were sourced in Italy, and the 471xxx guns had the action frames sourced from VGM in Holland, with the remainder of the parts (except for the Krupp barrels) made by Al Wordingham in New York. I believe Doug Turnbull blued the barrels and case colored the actions on all the guns. A good source of info is Gunter Pfrommer who was director of manufacturing and still gunsmiths.
