Daniel:
I'm far rom an expert here but from your description I think you have a good candidate for restoration. I take it this is an ejector gun and,if so, are they in proper operating condition? I'm sure others will pipe in and make specific recomendations on relaying the rib and freshening up the checkering.
I can comment one one required fix and that's the letters pressed into the stock. These should steam out with some patience on your part however when you are done the stock will probably have to be refinished.
