Krupp merged or was acquired by Thyssen AG to become ThyssenKrupp in 2005. Krupp built plants all over the world, Italy, Brazil, ... including building a new plant in Alabama recently.

So, "Krupp" barrels could be made from steel made anywhere in the world. There's no doubt Krupp has a long history of barrel making, including the heavy artillery of two world wars and those huge barrels of WW2. But, the real question is: What are you getting, and is it any better than any other commonly used steel sources, when you buy a modern gun with "Krupp" barrels? I suspect that it's become simply a marketing/consumer recognition issue today.
