Glad to hear she is doing well. Maybe I can get by to visit when I go to Deleware for my Daughter's graduation this spring. Truly fine folks.

Bill Wise was as fine a gentleman and as generous a person as I've ever had the occasion to meet. I deeply regret not having met him face-to-face, but greatly enjoyed his deep knowledge and love of doubleguns and his willingness to share with all. It's wonderful to hear that his wife is doing well. She's clearly a great lady.

I think checking-up is important, too often neglected, Bill. Thank you. It's makes me feel better to know Mrs. Wise is doing well. Bill was generous to me.

I had been conversing with Bill by phone and email for a while and on a deer hunting trip to Chincoteague, VA several years ago I took time off to drive the 90 miles or so up the road to Harrington for a visit. He and Rosalie were both gracious people. I ended up helping Bill get his wheelcahir into their specially equipped van and away we went. First to a farm supply store where he bought a bag of corn, then down the road to his deer hunting spot where I spread the corn. He showed me the place where he would park himself and wait for the big buck, just as he described in his posts here. On our return, he showed me his collection of guns; he was especially proud of his Lindners.
Roaslie invited me to stay for dinner, but regrettfully I had to return to Chincoteague to meet my hunting buddies.
We continued to correspond for several years and I still have most of his messages on my hard drive. I will cherish that visit with the Wises fo the rest of my life.

Bill, thanks for sharing. I dearly miss Bill's input to the board and his gentlemanly bonhomie, but undoubtedly Rosalie has to be commended. For memory's sake: JC

It's been a long time since we have talked about our friend Owleye, so feel free to comment. Rosalie has included one of my favorite pictures of Bill in a family collage. It is a shot of young Bill, pre accident, holding a Parker shotgun. Bill's attitude about Parkers changed in later years, or maybe he liked to pull my chain. One time when we were scheduling a photo session at his home. I mentioned some of the guns I was planning to bring to the shoot. His last comment before we ended our discussion was, "You aren't going to bring any of your Parkers, are you?" Touche.

This time of year has me thinking of Bill & his friend, Wayne, out somewhere .. not too far off with a doe deer deke waiting and watching, mostly the latter, but what fun those two guys had!
I also find myself thinking of the Thanksgiving dinners that Bill would describe, real feasts with his bride at the helm and the merryment of the Wise clan all about. Surf tales, fish tails, depicted, 'Buck' tales (Bill's dad), &c. Always warm and fun, frolics from the past & the then present.
Bill had a zeal for life few persons can match .. in my experience, perhaps none. He is fondly missed and remembered. Kind of you to bring it up, thank you Mr. Bill Murphy.
"All good", isn't it! :-)
