I bought this blank today for less than $200 including shipping. I don't have a gun that I think this will go on right now but for that price I couldn't pass it up.

I was the guy you outbid for it. If I hadn't been taking my wife to dinner and missed the outbid notice I would have won it or at least driven up the bid.
Congratulations on the buy. I didn't really need it, but just couldn't pass it up at that price.

Hack that's exactly my position. I don't need it right now but I'll bet I'll use it. Tell your wife how good you were because you didn't buy it. That way you should get two sets of brownie points. 1 for taking her out to dinner and one for not spending money. Tell her thanks for going out for dinner. I appreciate it.

Mike:
At least one of us got it. Where is Sterling?. I normally go to Alaska every year trout & salmon fishing, but I missed this year. Hopefully next year.

Sterling is on the Kenai River. About 50 miles straight line south of Anchorage, 140 miles by road. I've got a B&B just off of the Kenai river. Here's a photo out my back door a couple of days ago.

That looks like Sycamore to me, Mike. You don't want to use that thing do you? Is there any way I could use it for a while since you don't want it? I promise to take good care of it............Denny Crane

I don't know what you will wind up putting that blank on but sure would like to see the finished product.

That is the sort of grain you only see in VERY old tress,200yrs or older. I have one blank like that tht came out of eastern Europe from a tree that was 300+ years old. I still do not know what kind of gun to use it with. My Charlin perhaps? Regards on a beautiful blank, as others I have seen are $2k+.
