Ok..it's a red headed stepchild. Why are some people only nice to them when other people are watching? They still have SOME of the same linneage albeit from a different parent.

I've seen people collect worse things. On another board I couldnt get anyone to say outloud "oh..thats (ahem) nice" - perhaps people here are a little more polite, her feelings are hurt.

My question is, how much of this line was imported? I see what looks like Belgium under one barrel. But the Hunter arms stamps looks just like on my Smith. How much is known about this short lived, last ditch effort to bring an influx of cash to Fulton? Was the rotary bolt intended to make it more like it's big sisters?

Thank for looking at her..it was only $150..I'm beginning to think I may have spent too much on my stepchild. I'd love to hear from that one other guy out there who thinks they are cute in an ugly sort of way.

A buddy from Ohio loves his and that one looks like a good one too!!! The only gun he has and he uses it for everything!! I guess in Ohio, or major portions of it, you cannot use a centerfire rifle for deer and such.

If that is a 20Ga. and locks up tight and functions right I would take it off your hands for a profit as a Christmas gift to my nephew.

Well 44; can I call you that for short? If I found it in a Dealer's here in Britain I would buy it. I am always on the look out for American doubles; very scarce here, and would like to add more to my small collection. It is the design that interests me as they were made for machine production on a larger scale and therefore there are some quite fascinating designs. Ignore what others might say. The condition is very good. Lagopus.....

Here's a 1948 .410 Ideal Grade with 'Belgium LLH' on the right barrel over-stamped with 'London Steel.' London Steel was introduced on the 0 grade by Halcomb Steel Co. in 1907, and used on the post-1913 Ideal and Skeet Special. LLH is the trade mark of Laurent Lochet-Habran, a Belgian barrel maker. Sanderson Steel is reported to have purchased barrels from LLH, and their mark has also been found on Fox, Ithaca, Baker, and Hunter Arms Fulton "Ranger" for Sears guns.

I think your stepchild is quite attractive, especially if she's 16. (Now I sound like a dirty old man.) If you decide to ship her off to another in-law, give me a shout. E-mail is in my profile.

You can add Lefever's found with LLH and SB&Co markings. It is not clear if SB&Co was importing the tubes and simply reselling or perhaps actually did something to them. There is a 3rd mark, a diamond that also appears. Until recently, I always thought that was a SB&Co mark.

Some Lefever guns have surfaced without the diamond, also a few with only the diamond. Also Lefever guns with damascus barrels and the SB&Co stamp have surfaced.
Go figure.

Here is a history of the SB&Co company.
