Run With the Fox:

Sorry to dissappoint you but I'm not a Southern Bell. Logon/entry stims from 7-8 character limit at a time when Fortran was King, assembly and Unix were the work-horses when the internet was in its infancy just after the copper punch-card plates. My parents wanted me to sign and seal with a unique first name which originated from a drive-in movie theatre picture show in Mobile, Alabama in the mid to late 1960s. Ellenburg appears to be Anglicized from the Eichelberger folk who got off the boat on the Carolina Coast in the late 18th Century pressing West to take advantage of land patents offered to pay war debt. Taking with them a well founded power systems(hydro & mechanical) knowledge in addition to selling corn by the gallon instead of by the bushel around the Tennessee Valley Divide, just South(Southwest) of Decatur. I'm curious of your origin as from time to time I have to get out my secret cockney decoder cerealbox ring to decipher your posts. Were you a lad around the London gun trade?

eightbore:

I had no intent of singling you out and it was just a general comment on a thread that began as an announcement for an event of interest and in my view turned into a sink the "Charlton Hall Auction" ship. I may have been off-base and possibly way off base. But if I had directed it toward you I would at least refer to you by your stage name.

Also I note George L. as being connected to Charlton Hall but I have no evidence of that. When I have an inquiry I use him as a point of contact and always get a prompt response.

On a side note regarding the compass: if data was collected via a compass to pass ownership, such as a land conveyance, the only legal retracement means is that of the original/period instrument type and then remeasured along the retraced bearing with new/current technology.

Kind Regards,

Raimey
