They advertise a mix of wild birds with early release birds. Many of the coveys I couldn't distinguish. I could tell that some of the coveys were released but nonetheless, they flew very well. It was not a "put and take" operation. None of the birds had been released the day of the hunt. We only killed 25 birds the entire day.... that alone speaks of the quality.

D A M N, $1000 a day! Boy, there are a lot of guys that own me a lot of money!
Now that there are no quail here, those guys don't show up any more.

Back in the '70s, quail were everywhere here. One time four of use killed 54(limit was 60 for four hunters) quail in about 2 hours or less and didn't walk over two miles to do it. Believe me, we left three or four times as many as we killed. The number of coveys were unbelievable! These were totally wild quail.
