PeteM, are we talking about the same ones? The poster on the 16ga forum specifically said they were made by walther and were not split? I guess I should call that place and doublecheck, but would be interested to hear if we are indeed talking about the same thing--the only reason I'd be interested would be if I could use my 20ga reloads and hull splitting would be a total no-go.

I purchased mine from Joe at the Drilling Hot Line. I purchase 2 sets at the time. They are split. Call Joe.

I don't use any lube and mine work fine in a 1873 Remington hammer lifter. I believe the lube will make them a bit tighter which could help with loose chambers, but make them hard to use with tight chambers. Paul

I shot my 16 ga. Sterlingworth last Saturday using the 16-20 Golds. My 20 ga. loads are 3/4 oz so they are very pleasant to shoot in the Fox. I used very old AA hulls that were ready to be tossed and because most of them split, they were tossed. No problem. I'm happy with the Golds. The 16-28 does not damage the hulls but clean up is messy.
