I believe Riuez is now out of business I dont know who replaced them. Gill Parsons could probably help. Or a google search.

From personal experience I will say that the Winchester A5 is a great collector scope with a large demand and they are great trading material. The Lyman 5A is IMO a vastly superior scope in every way. The early Lyman 5A's did not have click adjustments but are still better. I would never put a Winchester A5 on any target rifle that I was shooting.

Joe, I sympathize about the "point counting" problem amongst the sticks and vines. I guess I might go for a modern variable in that situation. We have similar problems here in parts of CA (I don't because I'm purely a meat hunter); guys complain that they can't tell the manzanita stubs from the blacktail horns. Nothin' wrong with using modern stuff if that's what you need!

I agree Michael, if the gun was truly being used for competition or serious target work. I find the old A5, Lyman 438, Stevens 438, and various other lower level "user" grade scopes are able to print very adequate groups on the right gun.
The Schoyen Ballard pictured will print 3/4" groups at 100 yds. with the A5 mounted, and it didn't do any better when I had a 8x Fecker on it previously. This particular A5 has the late model click adjustment mounts, and they are a huge improvement over other Win. mounts.
I'm a casual shooter, so these old original scopes serve my purposes quite well.
