Hi Whitey,
John here, from Ohio.
If that's the stock from Marion, it's called a 'take-apart' stock. That's the Westley nomenclature for that particular model. I believe that is pictured in an early 20's catalog.
Jim Kilday at the Westley Richards Agency may be of some help, and did state that they are considered to be rather desirable collectibles.

One of the members here sent E-copies of the relevant old pages, so if y'll E me at marshgrrl aht yahoo daht com, I'll attempt to find the picture files and FWD them to you. Gives a fair idea of the action/magazine layout, which doesn't use a forward stockbolt to the recoil lug, from the floorplate.
The floorplate is rounded off short of the recoil lug, and attached to the magazine box. What attached the magazine box/floorplate to the action is not known to me. The whole truncated action assembly apparently slides out as a unit.
The bbl underlug/threaded crossbolt and the rear stock screw appear to be what retains the action to the stock. Must work OK for the .318, as the inletting didn't appear to be battered at all in that stock.
At any rate, I'll send the pics, should you wish.
