I would like to get the receiver on my Browning Double Auto Twelvette refinished. Does anyone know a smith that will do this? Thanks -JB

That is anodized aluminum and I don't think that is something that can be refinished to the original look. It would never be the same. I suggest you leave it as is.

Any of the aircraft and aerospace parts manufacturer's can refinish it exactly as you want....you will need to strip the receiver of course....choice of colors....about 100 or so.....I'm a retired pilot and have had lot's of small and medium parts for my airplane done......really a nice finish.....they dip it and strip it first, then re-color to your desired finish. Pick up a copy of "Trade-A-Plane" (three issues per month, newsprint) at Barnes & Noble...there are quite a few ads present that address this type of finish....Take your pick...

You might check with Doug Braker, he seems to do more metal coatings than most, and is an experienced shotgun smith.
