Ed Mulderlak is to Parkers what the Holy Father is to our Church-want to hear a good one? He is a member, possibly a former BOD of that most elite gruppen...
Fox: Any more of this and my head is gonna explode. But just to correct the record, I have never been a PGCA BOD and never will. I am an annual dues-paying member (for 15 years and counting), not a life member, thus I don't vote, nor can I be a candidate for the BOD. I have had lifers ask to pay my life-membership dues so they could nominate me for the board, but it's not the money.
I have spent, on the average, five cold months a year for the past 18 years on my sailboat outside of the USA, mostly in out of the way warmer climes. Now Nancy and I do Alaska in our Road Trek RV during the summer; not conducive to networking with the PGCA BOD. Fortunately the PGCA is blessed with ample and motivated BODs and helpers, and my being remote from the situation so much of the time would make me an absentee-volunteer rather than a present-and-accounted-for helper. My contribution for the past 15 years has been deep research, photography, and writing about the "Old Reliable." We all do what we can. Last I heard there are about 1,200 members, so somebody (collectively) must be doing something right. EDM
