Years ago, Sherman Bell had a couple articles in DGJ regarding the Short Ten and I got the bug. Finally have the two guns shown below. Top one a newly purchased Francotte 10bore, 7 3/4#, look forward to that as an upland/waterfowl piece. Last night my brother just finished bending the stock up to 2 5/8", sweet. Other a Geo. Bate 10bore, at 9 3/4#, tight chokes and good for turkey, and has taken a few geese, but it is one heavy puppy to be lugging around. I've used only the RST loads(niceshot and lead), a few boxes of Bismuth short ten loads, and a couple boxes of 2 7/8" lead I've found at gun shows. As a relative newcomer to the short ten, I'd appreciate your sharing experience with the 10's. Curious about the following:
#1 What guns do you use and for what?
#2 What are your loads of choice?
#3 What kind of reloader do you use? I don't see any that can be bought to load the 2 7/8"?
#4 Photos would be nice.
Happy New Year, Randy
