Gentlemens:

Thank you all for you help. It is much appreciated.

The gentleman is leaning towards the Hornet, but will entertain other betwixt the wars chamberings. This is an area that I am a bit fuzzy on so your input is most helpful. It must have been pretty heady times in the gun nut world with the new toy of high velocity to play with. I know there were lots of wildcats developed then.

On a slightly different subject, back when I was young and foolisher, before realizing the impiety of a cartridge without a rim, I had a serious hankering for a .222 Remington. Whilst looking at the available chamberings, domesticated and wildcat alike, I did not find a rimmed case with a similar volume to the .222. All were considerably larger or smaller.

Best to all,

Glenn
