Ted and Joe, Good posts and excellent comments. Very well said. All of us have our differing values in the stewardship of these vintage guns. We're not the only generation that considers opening up these old guns. Just think how many of us have handled a would be gun prospect only to find the barrels cut or honed out. The generation before us took the hacksaw to thousands of these guns. We are lucky to have the ability to be descrete in our choke selections and have talents like Mike Orlen to provide us with the gun choke we desire. Generations after us will appreciate the SK 1 and LM in that ole Sterlingworth 30 incher.
If a dead mint high grade original SXS ever graced my closet, I probably would cosmoline the gun and wrap it in wax paper and stuff it in the deepest corner and forget about it. All other field grades I have go to the field rain or shine. JMO. Randy
