Hello recoil:Folded metal pattern is world wide in metalsmithing!Mokume is used in jewelery and metal smithing,it is thin metals folded,heated to Red hot and hammered all to Hell!!More hits the better,until cooling stops any processing.I am in process to decorate the flat sides of some Stevens favorite actions,with folded metal panels.Most any metals can be used in combo,even ferrous and non ferrous. Alumium might be the exception for standard metals,but why would anyone used AL for decro? Dick Stack
