I have just fitted top and bottom ejectors for a Beretta 680 series gun. This included cutting the rim recess, fitting the side lug to the frame slits, and filing the front to time ejection. However,I notice that the front hook on the original ejectors is hardened (file test). On some other Italian guns of recent manufacture parts are hardened by heating to red and water quenching. There no extra step as in tempering and I have done so.Is this correct for the type of steel being used for these ejectors?
