More than likely the magazine box has also been shortened to hold one less cartridge, a common alteration with the P14s and 1917s, requiring the trigger to be shortened slightly. This alteration, along with straightening the TG/FP, was long considered SOP with most 1950s-60s sporterizers and I've also seen 1903 Springfield triggers used along with it, making for a much more attractive result IMO.
