Sometime back I was looking for information on my 12 ga. hammer gun marked S.S. Northcote. Someone posted an old catalog page which I saved but can not find now.
I read a rather fanciful account on the internet that a similar 12 ga was named for the SS Northcote, a Canadian ship of the late 1800's. I have also seen a 10 ga SS Northcote on an auction site. That make three S.S. Northcote that I have incountered.
Mine has English proof marks, 3 1/2 inch chambers and the barrels are rather stout.
My question is, does anyone in the Double Gun group have information about S.S. Northcote?
