I am using umbrellas and I take light meter readings to get the exposure just right, but it just depends what angle the light hits the barrels, as to what color I get. I'm working on a set of double rifle barrels right now that look as if they came from the Damascus Bargin Bin Outlet... The one barrel is spliced 3 times, the other twice. Makes for a neat looking barrel, but they are hard to get all of the different sections colored exactly the same.
