I love this rifle. In TW's long story "The Forest Primeval" he mentions this combo gun as much as anywhere. One of the unique features is that its a "snap action". Not to mention the overall quality of metal work and the Adolph stocking. I have been looking for a "cheap substitute" for a while (snap action 30/30 under 20) yet it eludes me. TW loved this rifle for Panama other that the difficulty of keeping it dry and clean. For now the Valmet 12 gauge over .308 will have to suffice. gary
