In view of the recent British versus American discussions,...I would like to show you a beautiful example of the latter.
Being from a sort of Heinz 57 heritage, my preference is unbiased and since I've had the privilege of viewing and working on some truly wonderful pieces weather they were British, American, Italian, German, Belgian, French, or any other that might escape me , they all have one thing in common,.... "pride of workmanship"

Just like this example from Uncle Dan's repertoire,...enjoy!

Fit and finish on this one are as good as it gets for a 102 year old shotgun,...as far as innovation and design,...for the time period he was in a league of his own.

A beautiful example. Very nice.

Is it an AA or an Optimus? Gauge?

Is it all original? Is sure looks it.

Thanks for sharing.

I don't know whether to be more impressed with the gun or with the photos!! Nice job. Many thanks. Any idea what the cost new was and how it compared to the cost of a best work gun in the UK at that time?

This A grade had a retail price of $250 in 1905. I note this is a bit newer than that (Patent date 1907 shows), but prices were flat for a few years.

$250 back then would have the same buying power that $59,000 has today,.....not cheap!
