Terry, Mark Boehnke of Klamath Falls OR refitted the extractor when he relined and fitted the Winder barrel, which was not original to the rifle (I found it in a "barrel of barrels" in a gunshop in southern Maine; it was pristine on the outside and had a sewer pipe bore....). Whoever originally converted the block to CF had barreled the resulting action with a very heavy .30-30 barrel, presumably lead bullet shooting, and fitted a standard CF extractor. Apparently the project languished, (unfired) and so I got it. Sold the .30-30 barrel (did I mention that when it comes to pushing action strength envelopes, I'm with the poultry?) and assembled the rest from discarded Winder bits. The extractor just lifts the case head free; no snap action. Saves cases (did I mention I'm also cheap?).
