Fritz, there was a "BHE" listed on GunBroker a couple of months ago that was pulled from the site by the seller when it was called to his attention that it was actually a DHE. Trust but verify.

There's greater than a 99% chance that the barrels are 26" and 28" long, only if custom ordered would they be different, such as both sets being 28" or 30" long--or a combination thereof. I have heard of only one 12-ga. Parker Repro that has 30" bbls., but of course there may be others. I believe I have all of the Parker Reproduction brochures and only in one of the early brochures--the one with a PG/SFE/ST Repro laying on a wool sport coat and an opened Whispering Wings Of Autumn book on the cover are 12-ga. 30" bbls. listed as available. In all subsequent brochures 12-ga. 30" bbls. are not mentioned as being available.

To my knowledge, there weren't any 28 ga. BHE's made, just 12's and 20's. I've never seen any for sale either.

Agree with Bamboozler. I'd be surprised if the barrels are anything other than 26"/28". As for the confusion between DHE and BHE, that'd be hard to miss if you've seen many Repros. That being said, I had a 2-barrel set DHE 12ga (which Bamboozler has seen) that had BHE barrels, correctly numbered to the DHE receiver.

Yeah, Larry I did see that very unusual gun and thank you very much again for "saving the day" for me at Woods and Meadows where you borrowed that very gun to me when my Blanch hammergun developed a forend lug problem---I really appreciated it! Larry Brown is one of the good guys and a true gentleman in our sport!

All BHE Parker Repros were originally built as 2-bbl. sets. If a buyer of one of these BHE's only wanted a single barrel gun Reagent Chemical would sell it to them. This of course would result in extra barrels left over. These leftover barrels were then fitted and serial numbered to a DHE frame and voila a gun such as Larry's was created.

Glad to let you shoot that one, Bam. Now . . . next time you see me, please kick me in the derriere for getting rid of it! I trade more than I should, end up with regrets over some I should've kept. That one's right up there on my "regrets" list!

I just may have to do that!

We are seeing a very disturbing pattern developing here Mr. Brown...not only did you part with that beautiful 12-ga. B/DHE set, you also recently parted company with your sweet little open-choked 28-ga. DHE Repro w/DT's, SG and SFE! One more incidence of this deviant behavior we'll have to have an intervention and quite possibly you could be committed to a fruit farm that doesn't have any pheasants.

$6000 for a good used BHE 12ga 2 barrel set is a pretty good price.I have seen them sell for $7500 in the past.By the way, there were only 12 BHE 28ga guns actually built.Jack Skeuse planned to built 100 of each gauge, but the Japanese closed the plant before all the 28ga BHEs were built. They are VERY hard to find.

Thanks, John. I didn't think there were any 28 ga. BHE's made.
