Do any of the gun manufacturers currently offer a 20 guage over/under. with an english/straight stock, and 30" barrels, with choke tubes, as a standard catalog item?

Beretta's EELL Gold Pigeon O/U is offered in 20ga. with English stock, but 26" bbls. are standard. And if you can swallow the $6395 price, we'll know who the "gold pigeon" really is!

Personally, I think 30" bbls would look too long on this slender gem. A hunting partner has an older Beretta Silver Snipe 20ga. O/U with 28" bbls. that is exquisitely proportioned.

Ruger offers the Red Label Sporting in 20 gauge with 30" barrels and Briley chokes, but the Sporting only comes in a PG version (last time I looked). The 20 gauge field models come with a straight grip, so you could probably order a replacement SG stock if the tangs are the same.

Guerini offers 30" barrels in 20 gauge, but not with a straight stock.

Jerry,
I don't know of an off-the-rack gun for you. I think there's some level of custom in your requirement; a specially ordered gun (from one of the Spanish makeres maybe), a restocking of the butt, or conversion to straight grip. For the latter option, the gun will have to have enough wood on the bottom behind the grip (see Shotgun Technicana). Usually the target guns have big fat stocks and can be modified.

Jerry,
I knew I'd seen a straight stocked o/u Spanish gun somewhere.

It doesn't have the long barrels. You might have to special order what you want. Also, Rich Cole can assemble a Beretta the way you want.

If you buy a Beretta, you can also simply buy a stock set from Rich Cole and bolt it on. http://www.colegun.com/wood_sets.php#null

He has 12 English stocks to chose from in 20g to fit various models on his site, with 3 different drops at the comb.

I didn't know a Silver Snipe could be had with a straight stock, Jack. My father owns one in 12 that will end up in my safe, and I have thought about rasping that pistol grip down and bending it over to fit me.
Those are bulletproof guns for the money, no doubt.
Best,
Ted
