I have the chance to buy a 1938 vintage Remington Model 32 TC, 12 gauge (of course) 30 inch vent rib barrels. It's in good shape overall, not mint but good, solid condition. Used but not at all worn out. I've only ever seen a handful of 32's over the years, since they only made about 6 thousand of them. Are they good guns, or are there bugs that will give me headaches if I buy it with the intention of shooting trap with it ? Thanks for the help

They are a great gun and in my opinion more desirable than a Superposed Browning. I ran heavy trap loads thru mine for several years but now I shoot low recoil loads and try to baby it a little more. I havent had any problems with mine. It always draws attention at shoots. It is a real classic gun, the only affordable O/U I consider on par with a sxs Ross.

Really nice guns. Buy it, or refer the seller to me.

It's like a Winchester Mod. 21, but better because it's an O/U (it has an excellent locking mechanism based on French design). Oldie Remington shotguns (M.1894 SxS, 31 pump, 32 O/U) are superior to their Winchester counterparts.

It should be re-introduced, a great gun. Unlike the overpriced, overweight, Krouwt copy.

Actually, the design that provided the inspiration for the 32 should be reintroduced. Damon Petrik built a double trigger 16 ga O/U that weighed but 6 lbs. Best, Ted

Ray, These are splendid old guns! In a class by themselves and the present day Kriegoff is based on this wonderful design. As a young man I always wanted a model 31 but couldn't afford much at the time. I vividly remember a mature gentlemen at our skeet range shooting this most wonderful o/u. I finally acquired mine about five years ago....a two barrel set. The gun is a bit on the heavy side but is so well balanced that you forget about it. Great gun enjoy!
Luck is the residue of good intention and hard work.

I think Remington would love to reintroduce the design. However I would bet the reason they haven't is because they sold it to Kreighoff long ago. Remingtons several attempts at O/Us sinced then have all been busts.

Hey Tom R, was that gentleman at your skeet range with the 32 named Chappell? Same situation where I learned to shoot skeet in the 60's in eastern NC.
