At first glance a very nice G&H rifle. Up close it has been polished and reblued with rounding of corners. The bolt handle has been rather badly altered and the saftey replaced to have a top mount scope replace the former side mount. Big, ugly holes in the receiver ring. Wood has been used to fill in where the stock was relieved for the Lyman 48 and the side mount with fairly good match of wood but gaps in the inletting. Love the engraving but it has been partially polished out on the barrel. Really like the butt plate.
In short it is/was a very nice rifle that has had a rather unfortunate history later in its life.
Now off to do a bone marrow biopsy.
