I received this a few weeks ago, it works well enough though the rod does flex quite a bit. I was able to get consistent readings.

Having said that, I returned it. It arrived missing the collar stop ring and I have to say it's not an excellent example of British craftsmanship. It was sloppily put together and crudely painted, it looked more like a Chinese tool you'd get from Northern Supply. The dial gauge is a no-name tool.

I'll probably end up making my own, doesn't look hard.
