Binko, what I said was purely subjective and I don't want to offend anyone that likes the way that gun looks. It in no way reflects my favorable opinion of the make from a functional standpoint. I really don't like that forend and I'm not fond of the engraving either. That said, I don't think the price is insanely out of line. I just don't know that it qualifies as a "deal". I wish I had gotten a deal but unfortunately I didn't because I bought it new.

There should be some added value trading with someone like George Caswell at Champlin Arms. He'll stand behind what he sells regardless. To me, that's worth something. He's one of the good guys.
