I’ve spent the better part of last week working on my new restoration project so thought I would report a little. First I apologize for the poor photos, shop camera.

Before I did anything I refinished the buttplate and rust blued it, I don’t like to work with a finished stock without the buttplate. I also refinished and rust blued the triggerguard, lower metal, bolt, extractor, collar and installed a Lyman No.1. Refinished the guard screws and Niter blued them. The barrel was a mess, a heavy hand with a course file. I took it up to John’s yesterday and he put the barreled action between centers and cleaned it up for me, more polishing to be done.
