My problem is this: I have shortened the stock on a small frame 28 gauge shotgun for my wife so the stock now measures only 4" from heel to toe and of all the pads I have checked, the Period Correct pad from Galazan's has pre-positioned holes the closest of any at 3 1/4" which is dangerously close to the edges of the wood, not to mention the screw hole plug or scar in the pad is likely to be at the very end of the pad at the toe if the screw at the heel is positioned properly.
