I'm in the beginning stages of picking a stocker to restock my Westley .318 takedown. I'm not looking for a "take out a loan" type of stocker but I'm willing to pay for a decent job. I'd appreciate recommendations that come with personal/examined in hand type of experience.

Stock looks very restorable. Can you post a picture of the opposite side? Any cracks or deep gouges? I see the tip is missing and the wood is chipped off on the forend. You may be very surprised how this would come alive with a quality refinishing job.

There are 3 cracks just below the bolt handle and 1 very large one on the opposite side.

I would have that old stock duplicated, useing a nice "quiet" stock blank.

The guy I use does a very nice job and knows how to leave extra wood in just the right places at the metal to wood areas of old worn pattern stocks.

There are several good stock duplicators out there.
