There will be a 16 Gauge RBL demo gun available at the Black Wing Shooting Center [Delaware, Ohio] this Saturday and at the Handlebar Ranch [Mt. Gilead, Ohio] this Sunday. Gun is a 6 lb 10 ounce splinter single trigger.

I am right on the edge of ordering a 16ga. Wish gun was a little lighter and am torn between ST & DT. Does anyone have theirs yet and can comment?

Does anyone have any insight as to how close the new 16 ga. RBL's are to going out the door at CSMC?

Hal - you need to make a trip to Texas (Kerrville) and shoot our bunkers...bring the 16 ga RBL and give us a chance to put it thru its paces on some skeet/5 stand!

I called CSMC several weeks ago to check on my PIF first day order and was told it was "in the shop". I checked on the status of my friend's order placed a couple of weeks later and that is also in the works.
This time I feel the orders will be delivered on schedule which means the first guns should be shipped in April.
I ordered my gun with double triggers. My RBL-20 has a single trigger and the selector has the uncomfortable tendency to move when I fire the right barrel first. I've had the same problem with Model 21's and I know I'm not alone. Obviously, if I fire the left barrel first, and I have the gun now set up to do this, there isn't a problem. Since the RBL-16 is fixed choked, I don't have this option. My RBL-28 has double triggers and it's flawless. I love it.
These guns have an advertised weight of 6.25 to 6.5 Lbs. Hopefully, they will be within specs. The first two guns don't have a weight problem. My RBL-20 is slightly over 6lbs. and my RBL-28 weighs 5lbs., 13oz. with 30" bbls and BTFE.

This was a great handling gun. This demo gun may be a few ounces heavier due to the fancy wood, but it sure did handle well! Everyone who tried it was impressed with its balance and feel in the hands.

How did the engraving look? did it look sharp, or did it look like the sample 12 gauge on the back of the May/June Shooting Sportsman?
How was the checkering?
