Thanks!!! That's what I needed. I'll get some flitze. It looks somewhat shiny with dirt in the engraving. I'll try a toothbrush for the engraving.

I'm going to strip the wood because the checkering is full of crude and there are quite a few dings in the wood along with what looks to be a poor sand job with swirls. Thank goodness they didn't hit the checkering. Tru-oil is nice and easy to use...I'll try that. I've done full refurb's a few times so I should be able to get most of the dings out with a steamer and a good sand.. There's a small piece missing on the handguard right along the barrel. I've used epoxy and water base stain before...mixed together with a little wood shavings should work...in inconspicious area's it works nicely...Actually I did a fajen mauser stock that was broken in half through the checkering in the pistol grip area and it looks very natural.

I work for an importer and have taken apart lots of guns...never an old double barrel. Any tips you can give me? Anything I need to watch out for...flying springs or other things??? The firing pins protrude unevenly. One sticks out 30 thousandths more then the other but the round plugs that insert over the pins are lined up with the skew marks. (on the receiver face) I fired two rounds and the pins seemed to hit the same on the primers.

Anything you can tell me about this gun? I've found a few online but they seem to be newer models. Mine has sling swivels. I'm guessing a good refinish would bring it to about 1000.00 retail. Yes? It's got some very light exterior pitting on the barrels that could probably be buffed out. The inside bore is very good....no pits, clean. I paid 220.00 for it. it seems like a quality spanish gun from the 1950's. The ejectors shoot the shells 20 feet.

There's another Double barrel listed as a JAM premier...I can't find it anywhere online. I have to buy these site unseen....I'm tempted. It's about 200.00 bucks.
