The Flues guns have a bad reputation for being built too much on the light 'Game Gun' model and consequently were unable to safely handle modern American shotshell loads. It is said that the frames were poorly engineered and shooting modern loads caused the frames to break. This was mostly seen in the 20ga guns. The N.I.D. model Ithaca was introduced in 1925 to remedy this 'problem'. My present favorite game gun is a 12ga Flues model Ithaca, but I shoot RST reduced pressure shells in it...Geo
