Daryl, I believe the butt plate is a replacement. Still looking for some info on this unique sidelock. Is this the only gun anyone has ever seen marked A. E. Whitmore, Maker?

Researcher, my senior error. It is Alabama. Ken, I have never seen another gun marked A E Whitmore, Maker. He was always working on something new, and your gun is a neat example.

Reb, I fully intend to restore the original finish to the damascus barrels after I find out some more information on the gun. The barrels are marked on the rib "Kiley Fine Damascus". Has anyone ever heard of Kiley?

Daryl, you are right. It is Kilby. You can see that on the rib in one of the pics you posted for me. So what do we know abut them?

Researcher, how can I get a copy of that article, "My Magnificent Whitmore," in the Jan. 1967 Shooting Times?
