If you mean the hand work in assembling a gun, CSM was selling the kitted parts for the Ithaca NIDs from the remnants of the New Ithaca Gun co. a couple years ago. Now it looks like they're all gone.
You will likely be able to find a kit for sale at some bigger gun shows that someone bought. But you'll find few that have been started, and fewer that were ever finished. I know one that was finished.
If you want one, put a want ad in this site's classified section for one. They were $795 when sold originally, with no wood, if I recall correctly.

A while back Galazan was selling "build your own" Ithaca NID'S. Action, parts and barrels in the white. Everthing had to still be fitted plus stocking. Not sure if they offer that anymore. I know of no other. Good luck! Cheers,

I think Galazan was also selling some high grade Parker Reproductions that were still in the White.

I know of someone who's selling 150 standard FN boxlock actions where all parts still need fitting. They're 12B actions who have been used in the past to make 12-16-20 gauge and even double rifle's(with modification). Problem is the smallest quantity he wants to let them go at is 50 and the price is quite high and barrels are extra.Plus they're still in Belgium. Did think about putting an add out onhere about them but problem would be that I'm middle person plus paying "finders fee" as it's a large quantity and it would be a trade advert. If you look hard enough you still can find a kit somewhere They sometimes crop up even in auctions here in the uk. There were two sidelock kits not that long ago in one of them. Might be an idea to keep an eye out on them.

bugsy , if you find a NID kit ,try to get one that has the firing pin holes drilled! Some of them required a lot of work! Bobby

Gentlemen & 'The Ladies".......If you have been reading that Manificent Magazine The Shooting Sportsman, Mr Steven Dodd Hughes, wrote a splendid 2 part artical several issues ago, about using a Barreled Action that he aquiredon one of his "Trips to Foreign Places that make nice shiny guns...in the white'"You may wish to ask him, thru this medium if ha might have some advise for a 'Budding Gunmaker" I have a couple of English 'Guns in the white" also couple of Spanish ones, but the English ones with York& Wallin Locks are too close to my Olde Gunmakers Heart to part with......but as I'm getting close to Seventy""(Good point there is Peter Nelson is 6 mths older...Ken Hunt is 3yrs older, Chapman is also 3yrs ahead, Des Mills is really'Old"...But if you want to 'Google' Some British Gumbakers" there are several"Dudes with CNC machines making all manner of Dupes' that can be purchased" In Kit Form"(I, as a LondonGunDude' from the 1950s,Just wish we had had the advantage of The Magnificent Men With There Flying(sorry, cnc machine's) But as Abe Chaber and I discussed just last week, A Gunsmith today just aint worth his'Title"\' unless he can push a 12"bastard across a block of 'O1'oil hardening and make that piece finally fit into a HA Linder or a Boss12b c 1899 and it dupes the orig.Perfectly"..This has probably made a few fingers start 'Twitching"..Look forward to some Feedback' McIntosh told me our"Gunbook with Humor" has just gone over the 5000 sold.Hope it still brings a few'Smiles'..c/c aka/ dt.

Bugsy, I think most of us tinkers get our actions 'in the white' by de-blueing and polishing an older field grade gun. Seems to be fairly common fate for Lefever Gs, Fox SWs and others. Part of the reason is financial, for example: the only white action I see for sale right now is the Sabatti O/U from Galazan, and for about 1/2 the price I got a Browning SP trap gun to use for a project.

".... unless he can push a 12"bastard across a block of 'O1'oil hardening and make that piece finally fit into a HA Linder or a Boss12b c 1899 and it dupes the orig.Perfectly"... " Dave, I never had a Linder or Boss in my hands (but I probably wouldn't clap-n-snap someone elses gun ) but I did make a cylinder hand from O-1 for a Colt Python when I was 21 or 22 and timed it. Crazy Colts have that two stepped hand, what a job for a kid that'd never seen it done nor could spell 'gunsmith', let alone been to a school for it or apprenticed. As I recall, I made more than one to finish that gun.

Brian, their side plated 'President' model shown is the closest thing to a cafeteria for engraving patterns that I've seen yet, it has everything from MT-6 racing stripes to funeral model gold lines to embossed critters to a kinda two-toned paint job .. can't say the compostion is remotely tasteful, but it is dif. Kinda think it mighta been better had it stayed in the white .. & not had the side plates fitted w/the house cat. Must be aimed at the same buyers that Beretta has in mind with their enamaled rhinestone guns .. X'd Chisel's safari jacket and hand-lasted brontosaurus eye lid boots crowd. ' edit: just hav'n some fun; at home under the weather today. Looks like they make high quality parts, wonder who all they supply? Lotsa good shotgun bbls made in France for more than just French makers, you know. Also the custom shop at Anotonio Zoli would supply in the white SxS's if you were dilligent. The current Zoli heir is/was a big time flyer enthusiast and fine shot. Not many here have ever seen a high grade or custom shop Zoli as few leave Italy. And more power to DT and his fine sense of humor and his efforts to pass some of that how to push a 'bastard' along.

I communicated with them a few years ago and inquired about some individual barrels to build a set up from. They wanted $700 for some basic tubes with lumps. If that's any indicator, it'll cost a guy a few thousand for a pile of parts that will build into a gun worth .... literally hundreds. ..... if it's assembled well.
