Is it just me or are those guys way over priced on all their guns?
I have them on my "favorite' list but never look anymore due to price.

I have them on my "favorite' list but never look anymore due to price. It's not just you. In many many years of looking at their offerings, I've bought just one. Paid 25% premium for the rifle but I needed it for a project and was willing to eat the difference 'cause I wanted it so bad. Bah. Like you I still look at their stuff, but haven't even called them in years. Too bad. That's a nice-looking rifle though... Regards, Joe

My favorite was the $800+ Husky sxs with the Lefechaux (sp?) action.

In 2001 I bought a Krag made into an attractive sporter in Germany from Collectors Firearms, paid 925, stiff price at the time but how often does such an oddity turn up?

I think that the high advertised prices are connected with their presence at gun shows. They like a high asking price at shows to attract trade ins. A dealer strategy is to be able to offer an attractive trade in offer to entice a customer to buy an overpriced gun. Since they are on the internet, the show prices agree with the net prices. I feel that this type of dealer will probably negotiate price on a legitimate cash offer.

Does anyone know how many guns Owen built in Sauquoit, and what percentage were Mausers, particularly the lower grade?
TIA, and good shooting.

I feel that this type of dealer will probably negotiate price on a legitimate cash offer. One would certainly think so, but AIR they wouldn't come down even 10% and I ended up paying IMO 125% of a fair price. But, like Mark, I liked that particular piece enough to pay their premium on that particular occasion. I just wish they were easier to deal with or else they didn't have so many nice guns, I'm not so good at resisting temptation and so I try to ignore their site(G). Regards, Joe

Well I feel better that its not just me. High prices like that do nothing for me,they may or may not negotiate the "cash price"-it seems from the posters here they do not. They are waiting for someone who either wants the guns bad (no problem by me-been there myself) or someone who has more money then sense.
That pricing drives more buyers away then it brings in IMO.
