My RBL-16 is ready. I scored a case of mixed 16-gauge hunting loads about a month ago, so have enough hunting shells to use it the rest of my life! Anyone near Spoakne need seven boxes of 2 3/4 inch 1 1/4 ounce magnum #4s?

Did you get the weight of the finished gun? What grade wood did you order?

Hey, I'm over here at the south end of Flathead Lake with a third floor lakeside room with balcony at the KwaTaqNuk Resort and Casino for the weekend's Nimrod Classic at nearby Big Sky Sporting Clays. My weekend couldn't get much better! Weather is great. Just opened a fine Malbec and am enjoying the wonderful view while I type this. Momentarily I will depart for one of my favorite Mexican restaurants and their wonderful lamb shank!

My RBL-16 order is for straight grip, double triggers, slim forearm, 4x wood and choked ic & mod. Maybe I should have gone skeet and ic. Time will tell.

Researcher,

Are there any nice guns to look at?
Last year I missed it. I was supposed to meet Daryl Hallquist and his tribarreled shotgun.
Cheers.

that's 12ga load. is it wise to get big supply when local chinamart sells 2&3/4 one oz 1200fps remi loads for $4.97 or is it $5.97 per box? if one is to get larger supply isn't it better to get the more expensive non-tox variety?

lets hope the wt. is 6.5lbs or less. my new winchester 16ga repeater empty comes in at 6lb 7&3/4oz on electronic scale. i would not take more weight since as some say it makes little sense to carry a 12 to shoot 16.

Serban,
you should come down to Denver next year for our Colorado collectors show. It is happening this weekend and it is a very good show.

There was one worthwhile circa 1909 Ansley H. Fox to look at, a C-Grade straight grip, 30-inch barrel, no-safety, Pigeon Gun. However, some previous owner had polished the receiver and trigger guard as shiney as a new nickel. There was also an LE-Grade Baker on display and some English guns that someone else can speak about.

Daryl wasn't there this year, I'm told because of a death in his family.

Life was really good back when The Nimrod Classic was a week earlier and I could leave there, spend two days at Yellowstone, two days at Cody, and then slide on down to Denver for the show.

Reportedly Hill Rod & Gun is going to take over The Nimrod and it will be at Bozeman next year.

Steve,

That would be nice. But I might need a reminder some time before to make plans.
I forgot about the Nimrod this year until Researcher mentioned it. I think last year Daryl posted a reminder on the forum.
Sorry to divert from the topic. I'll shut up now.
