Clinton declared a huge area in Northern Arizona a National Park in the waning days of his administrarion. I used to do some exploring in this area and,after seeing some on the others in there, There's no way I'd go back unarmed.

Most of the Grand Staircase Escalante is in Utah and is a National Monument. The rules are much stricter than if it were a National Park. Incidently, the single largest proven reserve of 'clean burning' coal in the USA is under the Escalante and now off limits.......
