Did you see the big announcement from Galazans. Tony is now offering replacement barrel sets in several gauges for both original and re-pro O-Frame guns. My hat is off to Tony for being so daring to make these sets available. He keeps doing great things for us double gun nuts! I bought one of the 16ga re-pro sets that they offered a couple of years ago. I fit them to my re-pro 16/20 combo to make it a three barrel set. If these are anything like the set I fit you can rest assured you they will be of very good quality. I think there's a mistake in that CSMC ad copy. Far as I know, all 28ga Repros were made on the 00 frame, not the 0 frame. That's only 20ga Repros.

He's making them available for both Repros and original Parkers as well. Initially the Parker Bros twenty-eight ga guns were made on the twenty ga frame, 0-frame. Later in production Parker Bros went to the 00-frame for the twenty-eight.

The bad news is, that set of .410 barrels could add 1/2 lb. to the weight of a Repro 28 ga. This additional weight could enhance the swing or it could alter the balance point and make the gun feel like a club. I'd like to heft one that's had these .410 barrels fitted before I commit any serious cash.

Larry, I caught the bit on the re-pro 28ga barrels being on an O-Frame myself. I hope it's just a typo. if they are making the .410 barrels on a OO-frame surely the 28's are on the OO-frame also.
As far as the re-pro .410 barrels go. Even if they are a bit heavy this would be a fairly inexpensive way to have a .410 re-pro. They made very few .410 barrel sets and I haven't seen one of the 28/.410 combo re-pros sell for less than $10K for several years now.

My 16ga Galazan Parker Repro Barrels fit VERY poorly. I would not buy a set of these unless they guaranteed that I would be happy with the fit. Mine are so bad I don't use them.

Astute observation Dean. Read the story about how Ernie Simmons altered a Model 21 20 gauge-refitted it with M37 .410 barrels for sub-bore skeet, around 1940 maybe. John Olin saw it, got excited and ordered Dave Carlsen to build a production prototype on a 28 gauge M21 (same basic frame as 20, just milled out I believe)and one of the alledged outcomes from this "experiment" was the milling off of the receiver side bolsters- hence the "flatside" M21 design- Lotsa fuss and feathers for a dinky gauge, but I'm a duck hunter, not a skeet/clays man, and like Nash B. believe the .410 should be banned for hunting. Now Parker Ackley's rebarreling a Model 1897 12 gauge into a 30-06, that was a whole 'nother ballgame, IMO!! RWTF
