Mike:
I agree since we have what was the first Natl. Monument at Casa Grande. Curiously enough I got to really explore this site due to Bill Clinton. When he shut down Federal services due to lack of money in the 90s all the personal left the site. I spent the better part of the day walking around and observing things that most people had not seen in almost 100 years. It's a shame what these places keep from mere citizens view as I was able to look at some painted pottery shards the likes of which I hadn't seen before.

I know Casa Grande well. I lived in the Phoenix area for 20 years and was an avid backpacker. It helped that I wasn't married at the time. I have hiked the Mexican border
but that was before the huge influx of illegals started. Then I moved to Utah, driving through the edge of the Escalante a number of times as I made multiple trips to get all my stuff to SLC.
I really miss Arizona and Utah, but I do not miss Phoenix. It is not the 'small' city of my youth.
