I would love to snag several flats of the Remington 1200 fps 1 0unce #8 Game Loads, but I sure haven't seen any for sale around here. I got two flats at $39 per the last time I did go to the Colorado show after the Nimrod, at the then new Bass Pro Shop out towards the airport. They are long gone and I had to use two boxes of my precious 2 1/2 inch 7/8 ounce RSTs to shoot my 16-gauge Model 12 in the "Short Shuckers" pump gun event at The Nimrod.

Yep, sure miss those black Remmies. I still have a pile, but treat them like gold these days. I suppose that is the price you pay(punishment) for "short shucking" a pump gun.

I picked up the RBL-16 today. A bit heavier then I might have hoped for at 6 pounds 14.8 ounces with the thick recoil pad in place. With the thick pad in place length-of-pull is right at 15 inches. My RBL-20 weighs 6 pounds 3.8 ounces and my RBL-28 with 30-inch barrels weighs 5 pounds 12.3 ounces. Both with 14 3/4 inch length-of-pull. I note in comparing the guns that the RBL-20 is a quarter inch straighter and has no pitch.

My 12 bore with 30" barrels arrived. My old scale weighs it at 8 3/4 lbs. That's heavy, but I intended the gun for duck loads [steel] and it is marked for 3" shells.

Researcher - thanks for takeing the time to give us some great pix and visual comparisons. Question: is the fe on the 16 shorter than the others or is it a camera thing?

Daryl's gun sounds like what we would like for a serious shooting gun. With a vent rib, that gun should go over nine pounds. I may order one of those things yet. Will Tony give us a stock with buttplate rather than the hideous fits all pad? His website indicates no choice.

chinamart sells remi 1oz game loads for about $6 per box and that's about the best price one is likely to get.

Dave, I'll try to run down to Dick's to see what they have. That's where my 16 Game Loads come from. Sorry, my stash is not for sale.

The instruction booklet that came with my RBL-16 mentions a balance compensation system in the buttstock on the 30- and 32-inch 12-gauges. Anyone played with that yet?
