Two equal guns, one with a busted stock and one with a good stock. Easy answer buy the good one and let someone else deal with restocking a gun. The gun has to have a value well above the cost of restocking the gun for the number to ever work out. Your half off better cover the cost of the entire restocking. Anything less and you loose money for the git go as they say.
Broken stocks can sometimes be repaired. Sometime they break again. Why buy a problem, just to hope you can fix the problem? Does not sound like fun to me.
