He is very difficult to reach. He is a welder, if I recall correctly, and his job keeps him busy. The best time to call is Sunday mornings. He gets flooded by emails. Not sure he does full length inserts. He did this 22 Hornet insert for my 9.3x84r drilling.

The biggest problem I have with his inserts is that they are not set up to work with a doubles extractors/ejectors. I would buy a pair in 12ga-45/70 in a heartbeat if they did so. The longest stock inserts he lists are 18" but he indicates he's open to special orders.

Are the 3 ounces you save with the Briley Ultralights worth the $100 extra? How easy are they to fit to your gun or is it best to have them do the custom installation for the additional $50? I suspect that for $50 they can't be doing much work.

The hole in the bottom rib is 17" from the breech and is about 3/8 inch diameter. It is filled with solder. It looks like they drilled through the bottom rib and into both barrels. You can't see the holes looking down the barrels but when you put air on the weep hole in the lower rib it comes out the barrels as does solvent or water displacing oil.

Briley makes a full length "fits all" set in 20,28,and .410 called the Companion. They also make full length fitted tubes in several price ranges, the cheapest is fine.

What's the pressure 17" down the tube on a vintage 12ga?
Autoloaders are all drilled about right there. Might be a candidate for welding.
A post sometime back outlined the process for mig'ing holes in tubes. Brass/copper plug, inert gas, preheat, etc.
