I was wondering about a jealous husband? Not that I would personally have any after me, mind you. But I was thinking more along the line of Bobby, bbman3. hahahaha!

I was hit by a piece of shot about two weeks ago. I was sitting on the porch of the skeet house and the shooters were on #1 stand. The skeet house is behind station #4 or at right angles to the shooter. It hit me on the chest and fell to the ground.

Good examples for us all. I've grow complacent in recent months at the clay range, but this discussion woke me up. I've sent this link to all the shooters in our Izaak Walton Alexandria/Stafford Wobble Clay Range group. i will be mindful to keep the "eyes on" when anywhere near our clay range, shooting or not, and especially mindful when the kids are around, thx

I've shot a pile of Skeet over the past 40 years and have been hit a few times, some hard enough to break the skin. I'm in concurrence with your "bounced back" theory.
On one occassion I took 1/2 a No. 9 pellet to the left temple while behind the shooter at Station 2. He was shooting a High 2 single and I was looking toward the Low House at thge time. My theory was that the pellet was sheared in half by his porting.
No problem extracting the half pellet with a pair of sharp forceps, and no real harm done. I do wear shooting glasses, at all times at the Club, whether shooting or just "spectating".
